Vue Cinema, Leicester Square, London

After four months of demolition and rebuilding, our historic West End flagship is looking better than it ever has and is a cinema we can be truly proud of . There has been a cinema on this site since Warners first opened in 1938 and the refurbishment has taken pains to keep the historic significance of the site alive whilst also bringing it up to and beyond the levels of multiplex cinema excellence we have now come to expect of our flagship sites.
The front of the building has had a huge jumbotron screen installed which fits perfectly into the art deco facade. The Box Office has been removed with glass doors put across the front of the cinema letting daylight stream into the newly designed foyer and retail spaces. The copper and wood detailing throughout the cinema brings a warmth to all the public spaces with a cohesive design ethos.
In addition to a brand new classic retail stand, there is Malletti Pizza, Square Pie, B&J, Starbucks and a bar in the foyer to offer a range of cinema food and drink to customers, corporate clients and passing tourists alike.
Lastly, all the screens have been transformed with new Fox Slider seating throughout as standard complemented by Recliner seating in the front rows of all screens. Dolby Atmos and Sony Finity Double Stack projection have been installed in the two largest screens to give us the best Seat, Sound and Screens in Leicester Square. 8 out of 9 screens are satellite enabled now also..

'A' list celebrities support Airdrie Trust

To help raise funds for the Airdrie Trust, I've called in the help of some celebrity friends and have asked them to sign and pose with Airdrie FC shirts for us so we can auction them.

Airdrie FC are the first football club in Scotland to install a sensory room at their stadium (Excelsior Stadium in Airdrie) for home games, which will allow children with sensory process disorders - such as autism - to attend matches in comfort. Monies raised from these signed shirts have already helped furnish the Sensory room.

Top names who've already signed Airdrie jerseys in aid of Airdrie Trust include Ricky Gervais, Mark Hamill, Eric Idle, Vinnie Jones, William Shatner, Jamie Lee Curtis, Christopher Guest, Olly Murs, Kevin Pollak, Tom Hanks and Ben Stiller.

Sir Elton John also signed a shirt for the Trust after his recent concert at the stadium.

On July 1st 2017, Airdrieonians Supporters Trust launched their 4th Annual Kit Amnesty at Airdrie Fair Day. Running throughout July and August, under 16’s in the area will receive a free season ticket for the club in return for handing in any unwanted piece of kit, which will then be sent to charity partners KitAid, and then redistributed to some of the poorest countries in the world. KitAid were established in 1998 and since then, have sent 425,000 pieces of kit around the world. Airdrieonians have donated nearly 14,000 pieces of that kit in 3 years and as a result, have issued nearly 1200 season tickets to local children, aiming to make football affordable for the children and families in the area. Airdrie became an ambassador club for the charity in 2014 and the Strip amnesty is the biggest event in the Trusts’ calendar. Every year, the Trust subsidise the free season tickets. Backed by generous sponsorship from BSB Structural, we run a variety of fund raisers and events throughout the season to be able to pay for the kids tickets.
